Our Brook Quilted Multi-Zoned Natural Latex Mattress has a 100% natural latex core that is zoned with different firmness levels to maintain proper alignment of the spine and eliminate pressure points. The Brook mattress is softer in the shoulder zone and in the foot zone, and firmer in the back/lumbar zone, giving it exceptional support properties. The zoned latex core is then wrapped in layers of organic cotton and Pure Grow wool which are quilted to a durable organic cotton ticking cover from Germany. By itself latex is does not breathe very well, but by adding the outer layer of organic cotton and wool quilting, you get wonderful breatheabilty for a better night's sleep. Latex is also renowned for its durability. Latex mattresses can last up to 30 years! Our natural latex mattresses are just as good as the popular petroleum-based memory foam mattresses, with a couple of very important advantages: 1) Our latex mattresses are not soaked in a pound or more of cancer causing PDBE fire retardants, and 2) they don't outgas dangerous formaldehyde on your body for 8 hours every night. When you think about this, only a 100% natural latex mattress makes sense. Latex mattresses relieve pressure points and promote proper alignment of the spine, making for a more restful sleep. They are also hypoallergenic and they naturally repel dust mites, and resist mold and mildew, which is a plus for people with allergies. These natural latex mattresses come in three different levels of firmness: medium, firm and extra firm. Latex mattresses are pliable and therefore do not use traditional boxsprings for a foundation. Latex mattresses require a firmer mattress foundation, like our platform beds, slat frames, or solid wood foundations.
