Here are some words from the artist, Henry Harvey, about this fountain: "This is the image I get when I contemplate the "beginning of it all". Like Cosmos, you're looking deep into a galaxy and the effect is mesmerizing. The sharp points of light you see are the optional stars created by tiny rice lights behind the panel. It looks fine without them, but if you entertain at night...this one is dynamite with the backlighting!" Size: 48 inches high by 27.5 inches wide by 6 inches deep.
Harvey Galleries produces some of America's finest metallic artwork and sculpture, for both indoor and outdoor uses. Different material combinations, including copper, brass, bronze, iron, steel, and glass are used along with various coloring techniques to produce these fine pieces. The metals used in this artwork have at least 75% recycled content, making them an environmentally sound choice. Harvey Gallery fountains also use glass, lighting, and, of course, water to produce their total effect. Please pay close attention to the dimensions of these works, some are quite large. The bottom of every Galaxy fountain is a very pretty hand-made copper reservoir that is given its patina using heat. A large acrylic panel is fastened to the bottom reservior, and a copper fountain pipe is hidden behind the panel. The rear side of the acrylic panel is painted with special paints and pigments and then sealed. The fountain water flows down the front of the panel and consequently never comes in contact with the hand-painted images on the rear of the panel. The included pump is submersible and has its own 1-year manufacturer's guarantee. The points of light that you see on some of the fountains are a type of new, high-tech "rice" lights that put out virtually no heat, are literally the size of grains of rice, and last for an extremely long time--up to 5,000 hours.
